6 So Moses spoke to the children of Israel, and each of their leaders gave him a rod apiece, for each leader according to their fathers’ houses, twelve rods; and the rod of Aaron was among their rods. 7 And Moses placed the rods before the Lord in the tabernacle of witness.
8 Now it came to pass on the next day that Moses went into the tabernacle of witness, and behold, the rod of Aaron, of the house of Levi, had sprouted and put forth buds, had produced blossoms and yielded ripe almonds
Numbers 17:6-8 (NKJV)
8 Now it came to pass on the next day that Moses went into the tabernacle of witness, and behold, the rod of Aaron, of the house of Levi, had sprouted and put forth buds, had produced blossoms and yielded ripe almonds
Numbers 17:6-8 (NKJV)
Aaron's rod was a shepherd's staff. A shepherd's rod was a peeled, sun-dried stick, used over a long time. It's an instrument of work meant to drive herds, help him to climb hills and support him when weak or tired. It is a dead rod which could by no chance ever be able to come to life and bud again. Yet this one budded.
Because the Sovereign God wanted to prove a point in the life of Aaron, He bypassed and suspended the laws of nature -- and the law of life and law of death.
"Now it came to pass on the next day...., ….the rod of Aaron, of the house of Levi, had sprouted and put forth buds, had produced blossoms and yielded ripe almonds." Numbers 17:8

In verse 7, it is written "And Moses placed the rods before the Lord in the tabernacle of witness."
The rod was placed and positioned "before the Lord in the tabernacle of witness." This is telling us something that; there is blessing of being in the presence of the Lord. There's blessing in going to the tabernacle of meeting. There's blessing in tarrying in His presence. Amen.
